Tarek Al Kazzaz is an architect and educator. He has been engaged with architecture, urban planning, and real estate development on both the academic and professional levels since 1991. As a fulltime Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture and Design at the American University of Beirut (1991-2003), his teaching included design studio, as well as courses in the fields of history, theory and criticism. In addition to teaching he was involved in research and has numerous conference papers and publications, as well a wide range of consultancy engagements in both the public and private sectors related to urban and real estate planning and development in the region.

He served as Consultant for ESCWA in the area of ICT for Urban Planning and Development, Senior Planning Consultant for Khatib & Alami, Development Consultant for UREC, Kuwait, and Director of Real Estate Development at Millennium Development, Beirut.

In 2006 he cofounded AlMutawir Real state Developers, in Kuwait, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board.

He completed his undergraduate studies in architecture at AUB, graduate studies in Architecture and postgraduate studies in Planning and Real Estate Development at MIT.
