Holding her masters from the American university of Beirut (AUB), Sandy El Sabsabi is a leading senior urban designer, architect and educator, supporting innovative City design strategies and new thinking approaches that employ and recreate local urban potentials and qualities.

She has managed, designed and executed housing complexes, commercial units, masterplans and urban design projects based in Lebanon, KSA and UAE for international firms, like the renowned Steven Holl Architects and NEOM. She is founder of UD+A studio for urban design and architecture since 2016.

Her interest in Urbanism, Landscape, Morphology, Ecology and Sustainability resulted in her enrollment in many public lectures and conferences, with published online and printed works, in City Debates, Middle East Landscape Forum, etc. She participated in national and international competitions & workshops, including UCL workshop at the Bartlett, ‘Beddawi at the edge of a city’ with UNDP, UNRWA and GIZ, and a winning competition of Revisiting Dalieh in Beirut, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment.

On the level of teaching and research, her academic experience started during her graduate years in 2014 at the American University of Beirut. Since then, she is giving descriptive courses, urbanism, landscape architecture, urban planning and design studio courses in several universities.

Currently, she is leading on urban design projects in KSA, UAE and Lebanon, and preparing research studies in Landscape Ecology and Urban Morphology.
